Otherworldly Business is an action RPG with an anime-styled otherworld setting.
As a career professional living in the real world, with no warning at all, you discover a way into another world inside a computer program. After entering the otherworld, you learn the real reason behind it, along with the mysterious passages formed by countless collapsed and intersecting parallel universes. You will travel between different prime universes to complete contracts, and return to your own real world with the earnings and the loot.
An American Western regionCombat
A soulslike-leaning combat system, but with a lighter overall style. Anime-style animation plus realistic physical feel, the interplay of combo chains, and a spell and weapon switching system will deliver a highly satisfying sense of impact plus the fun of loot hunting!
Classes and Weapons
Four playable classes during the demo: Knight, Warrior, Mage, Archer.
Weapon types include sword and shield, greatsword, axe, hammer, bow, staff and spellbook. Different weapons vary in reach, attack speed and recovery — every class is worth experiencing yourself!
World Travel
You will gradually unlock the ability to travel between otherworlds. Destinations include but are not limited to:
- An American Western region
- A post-apocalyptic city overrun by zombies
- A Japanese-style castle town
- Elven territory
- Viking territory
- A sealed dark castle
Every world has its own enemies, terrain, contracts, unique gear and rare cosmetics!!
A post-apocalyptic city overrun by zombiesTime and Weather System
The game has its own independent time and weather system, which is also a potential trigger condition for certain special events.
Housing System
Players can buy houses in both the real world and the otherworld's prime universe, complete with a full farming system — you can grow crops yourself to make a profit or to craft special items. The housing system also provides gear upgrading and special gear crafting, and gear crafting includes cosmetic crafting! But you need to obtain the recipe beforehand.
Fantasy Towns
The game currently has two settlements designed in the otherworld's prime universe — a village and a town, both full of NPCs and explorable areas — but the demo will only open the frontier village. In the full game to come, villages and towns will hide all kinds of random periodic events, delivering a one-of-a-kind treasure-hunting experience!
A Japanese-style castle townCharacter and Appearance
Characters have gender and a face-creation feature, currently supporting only basic adjustments such as skin tone, body type and facial features. Besides the fact that every stat-bearing piece of gear has its own appearance, the game also provides a cosmetics system; cosmetics only provide appearance variation, with no actual stat increases whatsoever. Cosmetics are obtained through purchase and through contract events.
Co-op
Online co-op is supported. Parties are formed by leader invitation — your friend accepts and enters your world directly to explore together, taking on even richer rewards!!
Monetisation
The game itself is completely free. The only paid content is cosmetics and other appearance items; nothing that affects combat power is sold.
All gear is obtained in-game, and can be traded on the in-game exchange and the Steam Community Market.
