纸嫁衣8千子树
In this eighth chapter of the Paper Bride series, we return with a handful of old friends to Zangling Village, tracing one sorrowful tale after another, each drawn from what came before. The ending may arrive as no surprise. Whether it sits within reason is harder still to say.
Millennia be yours, Godmother; a century for the child you cradle.
No kinship idly claimed; year upon year, we bow before you.
We prostrate before the gods, for calamity ceasing, sickness fleeing.

Listen. The howling wind tears through the leaves — is that the trees, keening?
In red bridal silk we shroud the departed; from white paper we cut pristine garments.
The number 8 is a Möbius strip — it winds and wanders, only to arrive once more where it began.
So too the faith of Zangling Village. Forever bowing to new gods and forsaking the old, yet never once slipping free of that single word: desire.

The new installment brings several exciting upgrades:
*Folk Culture Enhancement: We unearth ever more of the old customs and rites, and with them the quiet beauty of tradition.
*Visual Refinement: We reach toward an unfamiliar visual language, conjuring scenes that shimmer and dissolve like a mirage.
*Suspense Intensification: Beyond a greater host of lonely, stray spirits, perhaps a colder breed of chill you have not yet known.
