Visual novel: The One from the Dark
Visual novel set in a rural horror setting. Take on the role of a city real estate appraiser stranded in a remote village with no phone service, no cars, and no escape. Read dialogues, make choices, and try to maintain your sanity before the local Tree decides you're for dinner tonight.
One village. One night. Not a single witness.
Jane Evans is a real estate appraiser. Her job involves abandoned houses in the wilderness. Her latest assignment takes her to Roadville, a village lost in the fog. There's no communication. The bus runs once a day. And the locals are hiding something.
Jane will have to spend the night in a village where everyone smiles, but no one tells the truth. And where there's an ancient prophecy: "The most important is the one who comes from the darkness. The blood of others is needed..."
GAMEPLAY
This is a psychological visual novel where your main goal is to survive and escape. Gameplay is entirely focused on reading dialogue, Jane's internal monologues, and making decisions. Every choice you make can bring you closer to salvation—or send you into the arms of the Tree. The game offers several story paths and many hidden dead ends, where one wrong move can be fatal.
GAME FEATURES
Atmospheric horror. Terror is born from silence, fog, strange glances, and the gradual realization: you are no one here, you are alone, and no one will come.
Gaslighting as a mechanic. You will be told scary stories, and a minute later you will think it was all fantasy. Will you believe yourself? Or will you think you are going crazy?
Prophecy and the Tree. Something ancient grows in the center of the village. It is hungry. It remembers. And it has already chosen its victim.
Multiple endings. Will you escape before dawn? Or will you become part of the community? Or will you never be found?
"Truly, the most important is the one who comes from the darkness. But the one who comes from the darkness will never return."
