An idle fishing game built inside a fake 1997 operating system. Catch 250 species, upgrade your gear, send boats out overnight, and prestige when the numbers get too big. Comes with Solitaire, a paint program, and seagulls.
FISH.OS is an idle fishing game built inside a fake operating system from 1997. You fish, sell the catch, upgrade the gear, buy boats that work while you're gone, and reset the whole thing for a multiplier when the numbers stop meaning anything.
It also comes with a card game, a paint program, and a music player, because that's what shipped on discs back then.
Every system is a window. Open the fishing app, drag it where you want it, and leave the market running next to it while the aquarium bubbles away behind both. Arrange the workspace however you like, or minimize the whole operating system, the fish keep biting either way.
Each fish is a pixel-art entry in the Fishpedia, sorted by rarity and by the zone it lives in. Commons fill the log quickly; the rare tiers take real time. Fuse duplicates to create hybrids, display your best catches in an aquarium you decorate yourself, and grind the completion percentage up one decimal at a time.
Buy boats and send them on expeditions. Come back the next day to a full balance and a report on everything the fleet brought in overnight. Offline progress is the core of the game, not a late-game unlock, and it isn't rented, boosted, or sold back to you.
Formatting the drive wipes your progress and returns a permanent multiplier. Build better rods in the workshop, crack rocks for materials in the lab, unlock new fishing zones, and earn titles as you go. Each run gets you deeper than the last.
Solitaire. FishSweeper. Fish 2048. A paint program with layers. TunaPlayer, for music. Desktop themes, a screensaver, and a seagull. They are all real, and they are all installed.
