童年诡事录
A 2002 China rural primary school-set horror puzzle game: The protagonist’s younger brother vanishes mysteriously after school. Searching the school, they face eerie supernatural events, solve mechanical puzzles to deduce the truth, and reflect on left-behind children and school violence.
Story Background: The Figure Lost After Rural School
In rural China, 2002, the chirp of cicadas shrouds a quiet primary school. The protagonist Bo Ming’s younger brother, Xiao Ming, heads to school with his faded canvas backpack as he always does — yet he never returns home.Desperate to find his brother, Bo Ming steps into the deserted school once classes end. He soon finds the place enveloped in an eerie aura: faint children’s weeping drifts from the end of the corridor, and unnatural basketball echoes reverberate across the campus.Every unsettling anomaly seems to point toward the truth behind his brother’s disappearance, while concealing dark secrets buried deep within this countryside village.
Game Core: Beyond Horror, a Deeper Reflection
When the horror fades, the game aims to draw attention to two real-world issues: In 2002’s rural areas, with large numbers of parents migrating for work, left-behind children faced loneliness and safety predicaments; and how overlooked violence and bullying in schools left indelible scars in silence. The "truth" you uncover in the game may not just be an answer to a disappearance, but a look back at the living conditions of rural children in that era.
