You'll assume the role of the Special Investigations Division Chief at the Bureau of Crisis Response (BCR), leading agents deep into Bleak Mountains City, a metropolis steeped in retro 1980s charm, to investigate and contain various supernatural “Visions”.
The game blends mind-bending tactical gameplay with urban legends steeped in primal fear, delivering a uniquely immersive experience.
Story Background
Welcome to Bleak Mountains City: a retro metropolis that appears prosperous on the surface, yet simmers with hidden currents. Here, urban legends are not mere fiction. Endlessly looping rooms, stations that shouldn't exist, rain-soaked beings reeking of dampness... These supernatural “Visions” lurk in every corner of the city, threatening lives.
As the newly appointed Special Investigations Chief of the Bureau of Crisis Response (BCR), a secret agency dedicated to handling such incidents, your duty is to delve into the heart of these bizarre events. Utilize your intellect, strategic prowess, and the unique abilities of your agents to uncover the truth and maintain the city's fragile peace.
🕵️ Dive into the labyrinth of urban legends as a rational investigator
You face not traditional ghosts, but “Visions” defying logical explanation. The game's narrative employs a unique and intense “new weird” atmosphere. Like a true detective, you must investigate crime scenes, gather evidence, and analyze clues to gradually piece together the bizarre truths lurking beneath the city's neon lights.
⚙️ Master battlefield tactics in hardcore tactical combat
Battles are contests of intellect. Command your agents across the map, using partial and full cover to evade damage while setting up alert zones for counterattacks. Each class has distinct roles, strategic class composition and positioning are key to victory. Mastering the Phase affinities and their counter-relationships will help you overcome formidable foes.
🎭 Meet extraordinary allies and assemble an exceptional investigation unit
Your allies are equally extraordinary. They may be elite colleagues responding to incidents, fanatical researchers obsessed with their studies, or even anomalous entities themselves in urgent need of containment. Recruit these characters through story missions and bring them under your command. They wield special devices called “Packaged Items”, enabling them to harness the power of contained Visions, though this power comes with risks and costs.
🏙️ Immerse Yourself in Retro Urban Visuals
The game meticulously crafts a unique 1980s retro aesthetic through its audiovisual design. From the green tourmaline desk lamps and vintage clocks in offices to retro posters lining the streets, every detail is carefully crafted. All main characters feature high-quality animations and full Chinese voice acting, enhancing the immersive narrative experience.
