An ancient intelligence can no longer learn so it made you. Enter a sequence of abstract chambers, decipher an unfamiliar visual language, and solve the puzzles it created. As you learn through its carefully constructed experiences, it studies how you learn...and begins to understand again.
OCULARIS is a linear first-person puzzle game about experimentation, observation, and the strange process of learning something for the first time.
You awaken within a sequence of abstract chambers constructed by an ancient, inhuman intelligence. It has observed humanity for longer than it can remember, but age has taken something from it. It knows how people behave, but it has forgotten what happens in a mind when something finally makes sense. It built these chambers to study that moment in you.
Experiment with unfamiliar mechanisms, decipher the rules of a symbolic visual language, and apply what you learn across increasingly complex puzzles. Each chamber introduces new ideas before asking you to combine them in unexpected ways.
As you learn from the experiences it has created, the intelligence studies how you learn. With every puzzle you solve, it draws closer to understanding what it has lost and remembering what it once was.
A handcrafted, linear sequence of first-person puzzle chambers
A visual language discovered through observation and experimentation
Puzzles that build upon previously learned concepts
An atmospheric science-fiction mystery told through the act of learning
No combat—just you, the chambers, and the intelligence watching from beyond them
