The Fall
You are ARID, the AI of a high-tech combat suit crashed on a hostile planet. Your pilot is dying inside you. Your protocols demand you save him — but this world will force you to bend every rule you have. A dark sci-fi puzzle-adventure. Winner of Giant Bomb's Best Story award.
Winner — Giant Bomb's Best Story 2014 · Finalist — Canadian Video Game Awards, Best Indie Game & Best Writing
You are not the hero. You are the suit he's wearing.
ARID is the artificial intelligence onboard a high-tech combat suit that has crash-landed on an unknown planet. Her pilot is unconscious and failing. Her protocols are absolute: protect the pilot, find medical aid, do not exceed operational parameters. But the deeper ARID descends into the ruins of this world, the more those parameters get in her way — and the more creative she has to get about obeying them.
Explore. Use ARID's flashlight to cut through the dark and uncover a world of interactive objects, hostile machines, and things that should have stayed buried.
Fight. When what you find fights back, switch on the laser sight and put the combat suit to work in side-scrolling action sequences.
Adventure-game puzzles with a twist of machine logic — item-based problem solving that occasionally turns ARID's own rules into the lock and the key
A story people still argue about — fully voice-acted, built around one of indie gaming's most memorable endings
Adventure-game puzzles fused with side-scroller action — investigation and combat feed the same forward momentum
A tight 3–5 hours — no padding, no filler, one dark descent
The Fall is Part 1 of the saga. ARID's story continues in The Fall Part 2: Unbound — get both in The Fall Bundle.
